Art Basel Getup

Hello Hello!

I have been MIA lol (missing in action) in the MIA! Silly word play! I wore this outfit for the Spectrum Miami Preview Party during Art Basel. Literally obsessed with it. Any excuse to throw on the thigh high boots, closest thing we can get to fall/winter clothing in Miami. The dress? Well it actually is not a dress at all, a jacket that I found long enough to well... make a dress. Honestly, I believe if you have the confidence to pull an outfit off thats all you need. Just make sure you are "feeling yourself'! Put my hair up in a sleek back high bun to beat the humidity & I was ready to basel.

Acaí Acaí

Hey Blogger Fam!

Acaí is becoming pretty popular but I've had this obsession for quite awhile now. I seriously have a bowl a day, I plan my meals around these damn things. I usually have one for breakfast or supplement it for one of my meals... Acai berries contain antioxidants, fiber and heart-healthy fats the indigenous berry is commonly found in the rain forests of the Amazon. They are said to have more antioxidant content than other commonly eaten berries, such as cranberries, blueberries and strawberries. Research has found some health benefits of the super fruit, it is known to aid in weight loss, help with digestion, promote healthy skin, energy boost, and even boost your sex drive. It get's the blood pumping!

They can get a little expensive, a bowl can range anywhere from $7- $12 dollars depending on what area you are in. Good new is, after some research I found that Whole Foods now has frozen Acaí berry puree which can be used to make you're own bowl at home & save you a couple dollars. Buy some frozen berries, banana's, and granola and you're ready to join the Acaí obsession band wagon.  Check out the recipe I posted below along with my top 3 Acaí bowl spots in Miami.

Simple acai bowl recipe

Ingredients:

  • 7oz frozen pureed acai (sometimes also referred to as “acai pulp” or “crushed acai”)
  • Two bananas, one to puree, one to slice and put on top. (I supplement pineapple for banana's)
  • 1/4 cup of granola
  • 1/4 cup sliced strawberries
  • drizzle of honey, use as much or as little as you like
  • a splash of orange juice, apple juice, or similar (optional, makes things easier on the blender if the acai is not thawed).

My number one spot in the Acaí bowl world is defenitly Pura Vida in South Beach.

Numero Dos, Number Two, Jugo Fresh!
They have multiple locations around Miami.

& another one.. Carrot Express
This little gem is in a hidden corner in South Beach as well.

Is it still bikini season ?

It's Bikini Season all year round in Miami.

It took me awhile to embrace my curves, and after working out with my amazing trainer for a year I can finally say I love how I feel in my swimsuits. My weight fluctuates all year round, sometimes my diet is more extreme than other times but I try to stay balanced and keep my cheat days to a minimum.

This bikini is made by REHAB and i love the fit because it sucks you in, in all the right areas. I got so many compliments at the Mondrain on Sobe, this past weekend and on social media I decided to hook you guys up.

Enjoy!

NYC FASHION WEEK 15'

Hello Bloggys!

New York is always a good idea.
I've honestly missed you guys so much! My apologies for being off the radar, but I'm BACK! & ready to blog away on my trip to New York City for Fashion Week. What an adventure, especially the fact that I got on a 6 am flight with a hangover! (Never again) The picture above was taken at High Line Park, The High Line is a 1.45-mile-long New York City linear park built in Manhattan on an elevated section of a disused New York Central Railroad spur called the West Side Line. Honestly the coolest thing in the middle of the upper east side, with the Chelsea Market right under it. Def stop by if you're ever in the city. Super Cool Photo Spot. Obviously! I was only in New York for the weekend but attended a couple fashion events, and the Walk-Fashion Show. I had dinner at Beauty & Essex another super cool dinner spot worth the try, tasty bbq seasoned french fries, and spicy empanadas. My reservations were for 11:45 PM and by the time I was seated I couldn't finish all the plates we had ordered, but it was truly amazing, and a very cool laid back vibe. The drinks a bit of the expensive side but they did the job!  I love to Brunch where ever I am so we hit up the super hip spot Bagatelle NYC awesome eye candy, and I'm not talking about the venue. Super dope Street Art filled the walls and magnum bottles of champagne were non stop poppin" (I'm not complaining). Since I did arrive to NY on the anniversary of 9/11 I found it completely necessary to make a stop at the memorial after brunch. Quite insane how peaceful it was there, knowing the tragedy that took place. Took a fairy to staten island and enjoyed an amazing view of Manhattan, and watched the Freedom Tower light up the skyline.

Im going to attach pictures below and give you a little night cap on my NYC adventure.

Dominican Republic Take 17!

Hola, Amigos! Hello, Friends!

I recently traveled to the Dominican Republic, I have had the luxury of traveling to this little Caribbean gem since I was about 7 years old... I'm 24 so it's been awhile. I have seen the country transform from dirt rock highways, open aired airports, to super highways, and enclosed airport terminals. I had not been to the country in 2 years, & was flabbergasted by the growth. I am so proud of the Dominican people and wish them continued growth. I have been coming here for so many years, but this time enjoyed it a little more because of my own growth as a person. The culture you gain from traveling.. is priceless in my eyes. I visited a flea market in the picture above & felt so free, no fancy clothes, no shoes, my hair in the wind, it was amazing. I noticed that the people working here had also developed, I had one gentleman ask me for my Instagram name, it only came as a shock because it's not what I was used to seeing here. Back in the days, it just was not like this. My favorite part of this country has to be the humble and genuine good nature of the people, everyone is so nice, helpful, you feel like one of them, they make you feel like royalty. & if you follow my blog, you know how I am! LOL! If any of you have not visited the island I would suggest Punta Cana and any of the all-inclusive hotels, price ranges between 1300-1600 USD packages are available with flight, hotel stay, and all-inclusive food & drinks (including) alcohol for about 7 days. It's a bargain!

Punta Cana Flea Market
I walked about an hour on the beach from my hotel to get here, they sell the islands precious stone "Larimar" jewelry, and all types of souvenirs. It's beachside & an experience, negotiating with the locals, watching them at work. I loved it!
Kukuo Restaurant
I visited a beachside restaurant, that had this awesome swing & I had to snap a pick. I had fresh lobster caught about 30 minutes before I had arrived. Marvelous!

Beyonce Moment?
I woke up like this at the Gran Bahia Principe Esmeralda. I literally did not take off these linen pants, the whole trip. I was loving the island vibe.

LilaNikole Gets Golded'

Hey Blogger Family,

I've missed you all very much. I was on vacation in the Dominican Republic, and have so much to blog about for you all! I almost missed Swim-Week Miami but I made my way to the LilaNikole Swim Show on Sunday at the 1 hotel in Sobe. What a show! Creatively directed by my friend and style guru Alessandra Gold, where she had her Kruzin Footwear styling the runway. Of course it being Swim Week, I had to thrown on this Sleeveless Tribal printed dress that I'm obsessed with doesn't it look great with my tan. I choose some gold accents pieces as accessories, strappy heels and WALA!  I was Swim Week Ready. I received so many compliments and the best party was that I was so comfortable. Nothing like a flowy dress, too keep those extra vacay pounds under control lol! I'm on a serious diet for the next couple weeks.
